i was just as naive when i went last year, but istanbul would totally be fine to visit now. it’s physically close to unstable countries but the city is not any different than any other modern european city.

Love. Love. Love your story on Istanbul. Trying to figure out how to subscribe here! Wish I had all the time in the world to read more. We are planning a family trip (2 teens) for October. Our options are Istanbul and Budapest. I hope I don’t sound naive but do you think an American family traveling in Istanbul right now would be o.k.?

You are soo lucky! My hubby is from Istanbul and I’ve yet to go. I’m hearing tons of nice things about it, though! Love your photos, makes me want to jump on the next flight!
