always taught me that the important thing was not good and expensive that it was the camera or lens, if not the photographer’s eye … There are people still get mediocre photos fantastic cameras and other simple cameras that do a great pictures. You up with a black box would make amazing photos. All seem special. Excuse my english, is very bad.

Wow. Your mom pointed me to your site. I’m amazed and totally inspired at your images with the iPhone (4s even!)
Really…. Wow. You truly touched on a subject that is real to me so often. I never get the time to shoot for me. The fact that we travel to HI very often and that Maui is our place REALLY hit home to me. You know you know your a true artist when you can shoot with anything and it looks amazing. That you are! I felt like I was there again.
It was great meeting you and your beautiful wife last weekend.
I hope you enjoy my work on the other side of the lens!

wow.
have been a fan before but haven’t looked at a lot of blogs/sites lately…
when i first say these, i thought, hmmm…i should get a “real” camera one day (i work in the photo industry as a stylist)…
my iphone is old and i don’t get this quality but it is a true inspiration since i don’t like to carry a camera either.

Beautiful, just beautiful photos. I totally agree with you about taking pictures with the iphone.
I think it’s about intimacy with the scene you are trying to capture. If you put a DSLR in front of your face to take a shot you lose it, you have to find the right aperture and the right focus and you whatever feeling you had for the scene in front of you is gone; with the iphone, all you gotta do is touch, slide and shoot.

Nevertheless, with or without the iphone, your captures are absolutely wonderful!

I’m from Oahu but used to travel to Maui several times a year where my parents windsurfed, and I find your pictures absolutely authentic and stunning (what! with an iphone?). I’m usually not too homesick here in Paris, but you just made me!
